Newmarket Living
Looking for community, affordability, and an escape from the craziness of downtown Toronto while still being close? Then find out the reason why many families are making the move to Newmarket!
Located just twenty-five kilometers north of downtown Toronto, Newmarket is the reason why families are moving from downtown Toronto.
A small division of the GTA, Newmarket offers that friendly, communal vibe every family looks for. With amazing landscape, great history, parks and recreation, and affordable living ... there's no wonder why Money Sense Magazine has labeled Newmarket second place in their "Best Places to Live" 2012 report!
Community is an important aspect for every family, especially for parents with young children. The best suited place for any family is one that holds that 'communal' aspect at high importance. With many programs in place and many more to come, Newmarket offers opportunities for all ages to get connected. Parents can enroll their children in recreational activities such as soccer, baseball, hockey, etc. From as young as age four and up, there is a league for everyone!
Newmarket contains a wide variety of other attractions, apart from sports and other recreational activities. Two beautiful public golf courses exist in town: the St. Andrew's Valley and the Glenway Country Club, not to mention several other courses in the surrounding area. The theatrical arts scene is well known, with three theatres throughout the town: The Newmarket Theatre, the Resurgence Theatre Company, and Old Town Hall. A library is also located in the historic downtown sect with access to over 175,000 items!
Newmarket is also home to the Upper Canada Mall, a Canadian landmark, as well as the Southlake Regional Health Centre, and the Fairy Lake Conservation Area. There are many more notable landmarks and opportunities for fun, activity, and exploration!
High quality education is also found here. With two York Region school boards: The York Region District School Board and the York Catholic District School Board, there are over twenty-one elementary schools and five secondary schools. Secondary schools include: Dr. John M. Denison Secondary School, Huron Heights, Newmarket High School, Sir William Mulock Secondary School, and the Sacred Hearth Catholic High School. Newmarket is also home to a prestigious private and boarding school Pickering College, and houses a campus of Seneca College!
Newmarket has excellent means for transportation. Commuters travelling south to Toronto or north to Barrie can easily access the 400 and 404 series. Newmarket also provides it's own public transit, operating under the Viva Blue bus, which operates all the way to the Finch Bus Terminal in Toronto, as well as train and bus service at the Newmarket GO Station providing service to Toronto and north to Barrie.
Newmarket is a communal, family friendly, affordable division of GTA. Excellent for families looking to be apart of community.
With amazing landscape, history, and lots to do... Newmarket is perfect place to call home!
